C1 question. Chain and sprockets.

Post by wingnut »

I bought my bike with a 2 up vortex rear. I want to go 1 down in the front. I went to order one and they ask if it's a 520 or 530. I have not done the 520 conversion and don't really want to. Is the stock set up on a 1998 zx9r 530?

all I see is EK50 on one link and Japan on another. I don't see anything on the sprocket. I know it has 16T

Sweet chart you da man. I wont have a problem now. Thanks a lot. By the way why do I hear so much about this 520 conversion, I hear it really only helps on the 600s. So you see like the person to ask what does it really do from the info on the chart the 520 is thinner. I don't get it. :)

Ye thinner and not quite as strong , stick with the 530 or go to the 525 like the f models use [ you'll need a full set if you change though , sprockets and chain ]
