Hello all! Glad to have found this forum, but even happier to have a lime green zx 9r E1 sitting in the garage since last weekend. I moved from the UK to Sweden about 12 years ago and have not ridden since then, previous bike was a CBR600. Always been a little bit in love with Kawasakis (my first 'serious' bike was a GPZ 500) and when I saw a second-hand zx 9r which matched my budget I could not help myself. Been out for a blat a few times now, holy crap - what a machine! It's much more forgiving than I expected and the heart in mouth moments I've had so far have all been self inflicted as I, carefully, explore the rev counter. I've ridden similar sized bikes once or twice before (a mate's 'Blade for example) but was surprised how light this bike feels once it's moving (slower speeds are a different matter, definitely getting some crash protectors!). Mechanics wise, I can do some basic stuff (I seem to have become spanners for my son's motocross) but looking forwards to getting help from this forum if, and when, I get stuck!

This forum also works as a bike log for changes and maintenance. Post up your bike's mileage, tell us what you've done to it recently and where you're planning on riding it, etc. Inadvertently, you'll be recording things you will reference in the future. It'll also give those of us trying to help you with troubleshooting more information about the history of your bike, so you're not having to reinvent the wheel when explaining in each instance. And if you come across a video or a joke you want to share, want to rant about something or share your opinion about MotoGP/WSBK, there are areas for that on here too.

Hi and :welcome to the forum, have a read of the link in my signature, and then have a look around the how to section - only 3 pages but loads of information.

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as year may not be accurate.

Welcome to the forum.

I moved the opposite direction and about 10 years before you, so I guess we more or less even things out... ;)
