Hi all, just won an E1 on E Bay, hope to get it delivered next week. Have had one before in about 2006 and have often missed it despite having always had a bike in the garage. The only bike I've ever seen 165 on the clock despite having had some newer machinery since.

Was thinking about replacing the rear spring with a weight related one. Any ideas on the spec of the replacement I'll need.?

Hi there - I just got an E1 from Ebay too.

But - I know little about bikes and am having to work stuff out as I go along (just working on the valve clearance) so can't help with the shock advice.

Hello & welcome

You can spend hundreds on an aftermarket shock but getting the shock serviced with new oil, re-gassed and an appropriate spring will be a lot less. I did this many years ago on a 7R and the handling was night and day, well worth it.

I'll see what it's like. If it needs sorting out I'll probably send it to Maxton. They built me a shock for my MT10 & it's made a hell of a differance.

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as year may not be accurate.
