Hi welcome to the forum, nice looking C2 you have there.

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as year may not be accurate.

Cheers folks for the welcome, i phoned my local mechanic and he said he gets a few calls each year re gearboxes. Would it be a fair comment to suggest that the clean the peg / shifter mod would have probably cured the majority of these issues?
Waiting for a dry day to test ride and will update you as to how i get on.
Got an insurance quote tpf&t £95, anyone got anything much cheaper?

firstly hi n :welcome
cleaning and greasing the shift lever minimises the risk of killing the box but doesn't give a firm promise give it a good test ride and work it hard through gears and do plenty of roll on tests
as for insurance it's all down to age ncd and location
personally I pay just under £90 a year fully comp but I'm 42 full ncd and in an average area

Welcome to the forum.

Your £95 is less than my insurance for my ZX-9R, and a HUGE amount less than the newer GSX-R, but then a 1999 model should have a slightly lower value than the 2016 bike... ;)

Hello & welcome.

Same here for insurance, under a ton for fully comp and protected NCD. It's one advantage to getting old.
