Hi

My names Scott I'm 35 I'm a plant mechanic by trade but I currently work offshore. I've been riding for 10 years and have had quite a few bikes (usually more than one at a time) GPX750R, GPZ1000RX, ZZR1100, 1200 and 1400, Bandit 600 and 1200, H###A XR650R. I currently own a H###A Firestorm along with a ZX12R which i Pxed my ZZR1200 for and a KTM RC8R. My bike collection is a bit OTT and I do plan to scale it down this year.

I bought myself a very clean 30k miles E1 a few months ago as I love the look and they seem to give a lot of bang for buck.

I knew the fork seals needed changing when I bought it what I didn't know was that it was fitted with a dodgy immobiliser! I found that out when i got it home and it wouldn't start a week later.

Ive now replaced the loom, changed the spark plugs since i was there anyway and done the fork seals. I had it out for an hour today and discovered the discs are badly warped so that ll be the next thing to address.

Ive already seen a lot of great info on here and look forward to picking your brains.
Thanks
Scott

Nice bike, and welcome to the forum.

If I was you I would remove those crash bungs as they are more likely to cause more damage than they can save. Have a look in the "read this thread" in my signature for a picture of the damage having them can cause.

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as year may not be accurate.

Unfortunately the only bit of plastic damage on the bike is hidden by one of those bungs. The plastic is cracked in the inner mount on the right hand side. Impossible to see with them fitted.
