Greetings all.
New here, but not particularly new to the world... or bikes.
Known as Grumbly, Grumbles, or David to me mother. Born in UK but been in Australia nearly 40 years.
Main bike is a 2000 Ducati 996 and just bought a 98 ZX9R as my daily. Must admit, been blown away at the smooth power and how well it rides, I can see many miles being put on this machine.
Anyhoo, dinner time and this fat old bastard needs his food.

Hi Dave and :welcome to the forum.

Have a quick look through the forum "How to section" just the headers only 3 pages, so you know what information is available should you have a problem.

Also worth having a read of the link in my signature for things to check and look for, more so as you have a C model.

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as year may not be accurate.

Thanks for the welcome.
I am a little confused by this bike...
Seems it's actually a 1997, but the dash looks like a 98 one.
What are the obvious differences between the 97 and 98?

my first C model was a 97

Looks and layout are the most obvious.

ZX-9R C models were redesigned and look little like their predecessors. The frame and sub-frame are glaringly different from B models.

Thanks, definitely a "C" then, based on the frame and arse end.
Cheers.
