basically start with this and proceed with using tools similar for the end result.needs a few hits with a well sized lump hammer

2 or 3 hits later after a nice split emerges, use impact driver with GENTLE tap as it should have already had the seal broken by the heavier smacks .

then do the next one and its done. no drilling etc, loads easier , just be careful to use a good punch that just fits inside the ignition housing so it cant slip about too much and don't give up if it shears a half off after you try unscrewing it. on the second bolt, on the second barrel pictured above, when asked to do a how to, it sheared a half off for some reason. I used the punch down the centre of the half that was left and even with just that left, it eventually let go and I managed to ease it out.
to save any possible damage to fingers and barrel etc, don't use a small headed hammer. I put a piece of wood under the yoke to save damage and had it on the floor using my foot to hold the yoke down. neither yoke has any damage to the threads etc ,this is kwak heavy industries after all,

Please will forum members put their bike model letter, & 1 or 2 after their Profile Location. eg: Your Town & B1,2,3,4 C1,2 E1,2 F1,2
As all zx9's are all slightly different, and I get fed up having to ask which model & number, as year may not be accurate.

Just successfully used this How To today. Many Thanks

I found they had loosened quite well and was able to use a rubber washer under a small socket to spin them out, no need for the impact driver.

Threads in the yoke looked quite deep and easily took the M6x18mm allen bolts

BTW if you get a US spec ignition by mistake (don't ask!) you can convert it.
1 make a note of the wiring pattern.
2 Flatten the lock plates pop the the blades out of the US connector (4x2) and the 3x2 UK connector.
3 Fit the blades into the UK connector

Brown / Blue/ empty
White / Grey / Red
(locking tab at the bottom, looking from wires)

White/Black and Orange/Green are spare- remove blades and tuck into outer cover

4 Plug in and check everything works before refitting
