ignition advanced ;) picks up much nicer from low revs then ever before =D> even without carbs balanced

2 further questions:
1. is there somebody arround Reading to help with carb balancing? any recommendations?
2. I am thinking of adding Nitrox Ceramic 7 to engine oil - it should create ceramic coating inside to decrease friction
any experience with this aditive?

many thanx

I'm not far from Reading, never done an E model but done my B model 6 times now. Is balancing an E model similar to a B model? If so I am more than happy to help you out.

I did this mod yesterday.

Bought this 4mm round chainsaw file from mowersupermarket.co.ukfor just £1.48 inc. p&p, delivered next day. :smt023 Well done them.
http://www.mowersupermarket.co.uk/chainsaw-chain-round-file-532.htm

I only managed to move it up about 2mm so it hasn't advanced the full 4 degrees, but even after a short ride, I can notice it defo picks up a lot better from low revs.

Helps if you have a vice I would imagine as I found it fiddly to file off the protrusions on the rear, but I got there eventually by screwing it to a block of wood.

Recommended mod.

Im another person who done the 4 degree mod and after ive put everything back i'm a bit worry about sensor movement because after i file off these protrusions ...he can move now around. Ive tight both bolts bit more than was before and i use threadlock but i still worry if vibration can move sensor in the future?

So u basically move the black box(magnet) up 2.4mm and make sure the gap from the front of magnet and sprocket type thing(lol) stays the same? Then lock tight bolts when tested!! Sounds easy enough!

Original hole size

After elongating (I removed the remaining bits of the protrusions as well, as it won't work with them on)

That is about all you can get out of it, the bolt hits the side of the black box at this point.

I put some masking tape around the box, as otherwise, you will have to clean up the magnet, and I don't suppose that would be much fun without a very strong magnet.

just done the ignition mod, not sure how accurate I got it.
It was a easy job, used the Dremmel.
Just been out to give it a spin, cant make my mind up if I have any improvement.
Will get out for a few hours tomorrow and see how it goes.

Been out today Glasson Dock, Devils Bridge and Settle.
The bike definately smoother mid range, see how the MPG alters if any.
